Tumalog Falls, Cebu’s Own Slice of Heaven.

Tumalog Falls is a place of enchantment. Recently discovered in the town of Oslob, on Cebu’s southern tip. This spot was without a doubt not only the best place I visited in the Philippines, but the best place I’ve been in my entire life.I cannot recommend Tumalog Falls enough! I could have stayed here, mesmerized, for days. Since this was my favorite place, I guess it’s not surprising that the photo below is one of my favorite shots as well.

Tumalog Falls isn’t far from where you can dive with the whale sharks in Oslob. (if you need directions to Oslob, click the link) You can arrange to get a ride up to the falls on a motorbike for pretty cheap. I neglected to write down the entry price to the falls, but it couldn’t have been more than 100p. It’s a steep 15 minute walk to and from the falls, but for an additional 50p you can get a ride from one of the locals waiting at the entrance. There is virtually no development in the immediate waterfall area. The entry booth, and maybe a picnic table, is about it. This paradise, for now, is unspoiled.

One thing I will mention, which might be obvious, but oh well, is the falls cause a steady mist once you get up the steps. This can be quite an issue for those with expensive electronics. I risked it, and mine turned out ok, but it made me very nervous. That’s pretty much all you need to know. Again, I can’t express enough how wonderful this place is. I suspect it to be a frenzy of tourism in the coming years. Get there and see it before then. Thanks for reading! Like, share, vote, pin, etc, etc.
